Our History

’70

  • DINE emerged as a real estate group in 1978 as a result of the incorporation of Bosques de las Lomas, development high-scale residential and commercial located in the western area of Mexico City. From foundation, the main activity of the Company has been to conceptualize and promote real estate developments of the highest quality, and create environments and spaces with a refined Mexican and contemporary identity.

  • In 1984 DESC acquired all the shares of DINE, which had important territorial reserves. For the next several years, the strategy of DINE focused on the consolidation of the business, based on a healthy financial structure, which has sustained the success of the company throughout the years.

’90

  • Start of large projects at the beginning from the 90's, such as Arcos Bosques Corporativo, Centro Comercial Santa Fe, La Punta Bosques and Punta Ixtapa. Some years later and supported by the success of these projects, two of the developments of greater magnitude for DINE, Punta Mita in the State of Nayarit and Bosques de Santa Fe in Mexico City.

    In 1997, in order to anchor and position the project and generate clients, DINE, in association with the renowned Four Seasons hotel chain, developed the Four Seasons Punta Mita Hotel, which opened with 100 rooms and later expanded with 76 more. the renowned Four Seasons hotel chain, developed the Four Seasons Punta Mita Hotel, which opened with 100 rooms and later expanded with 76 more rooms.

  • Between the years 2001 to 2004 DINE made the following asset sales: its participation in the Hotel Four Seasons de Punta Mita, the joint ownership of the Santa Fe Shopping Center, as well as the territorial reserves of the state of Quintana Roo, the land for the expansion of the Shopping Center Santa Fe, the areas for residential developments located west of Mexico City and a part important land reserve for housing use in the State of Mexico.

    On December 5, 2006, DESC held an ordinary and extraordinary general assembly of shareholders in order to approve the spin-off of their real estate businesses, from which DINE, S.A.B. de C.V., incorporated on March 29, 2007.

  • In 2011, the first building of 26 apartments of the “Villas del Este” development in Punta Ixtapa, the which was fully placed at the end of 2014. In the third quarter of 2014, construction began and sale of the second building of this project.

    Punta Mita continues to consolidate itself as one of the most important tourist destinations in Mexico, with a wide variety of residential offers and available land.

The Board of Directors constitutes the highest management body of DINE. It is made up of 13 members, 8 of whom are independent and is assisted in the performance of their activities by an Audit Committee and a Corporate Practices Committee.

The members of the Council and Committees are appointed by the Assembly of Shareholders, with one-year terms, which can be unlimitedly ratified and have been proposed and chosen as honorable persons with high experience in the sector, in addition to being free from conflicts of interest.

The Board of Directors meets at least quarterly. In compliance with the corporate bylaws, among its main responsibilities are:


  • Establishing the strategic vision of the Company and to follow up on its compliance
  • Monitoring the performance of relevant managers
  • Evaluating risk management processes, in economic, environmental and social issues
  • Presenting an Annual Report of the Group's performance to the Shareholders' Meeting for review and approval
  • Enabling the mechanisms and channels for communication with stakeholders, who are informed about the overall performance of DINE

Member of the Boards of Directors in: Kimberly Clark de México, Televisa, Industrias Peñoles, Grupo Nacional Provincial and the Mexican Business Council. Mrs. Senderos was named Chairman of the Board in 1984 of Desc.

Fernando is a graduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration from the Anahuac University.

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. De La Barreda has a successful +24 year career in DESC, holding different positions and areas both in KUO and DINE, underscoring Investor Relations, Strategy and Finance, and Head of different Business Units. In 2012, he was nominated as one of the “30 promises in the 30’s” by the Expansión magazine. In January 2016, he was appointed CEO of KUO. During the past four years, KUO has recorded double digit EBITDA on annual basis. This consistent growth is an evidence of Alejandro's commitment of "creating value for stakeholders". As CEO, he has invested approximately $15 billion Mexican Pesos in the Group, reshaping the Joint Venture with Grupo Repsol to develop the synthetic rubber business, expanding the Joint Venture with Grupo Herdez in Mexico and the United States, enhancing polymers business, doubling the capacity of pork business and transforming automotive businesses with the development of a new generation Dual Clutch Transmission for high performance vehicles such as the new Corvette and Mustang Shelby. He was appointed CEO of DINE on March 2019, and currently he is responsible for all industrial and real estate businesses within DESC. Alejandro holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting by UNAM, a Master’s in Finance from Anahuac University and a Postgraduate study in Senior Management from Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas and Kellogg University.

General Deputy Director

Ramón Estrada has served as Deputy CEO and General Counsel of KUO and DINE since 2019. With over 30 years of experience within Grupo DESC, he has built a solid track record in legal affairs and corporate governance. He holds a Law degree from Universidad La Salle, a Master’s in Law from Universidad Panamericana, and completed the D-1 Executive Management Program at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE).

Deputy General Manager / Finance and Planning

He has more than 20 years of professional career, in activities that include corporate finance, risk, portfolio management, m&a, turnarounds, liability management, operational and financial restructuring, risk management and financial analysis. Since 2016 he was appointed CFO of KUO and in 2019 he was appointed DINE’s CFO.

Jorge is a graduate of the Bachelor of Economics from the Universidad Iberoamericana and has postgraduate studies at IPADE.

Director Punta Mita

He has an extensive career in DINE tourism projects. Mr. Bonnin started in the Group more than 26 years ago in the Projects and Construction area of Punta Ixtapa project.

For more than 20 years he has held different positions in the Punta Mita Project in of Underdevelopment, Operations and Sales areas.

As of 2019 he was appointed Managing Director of Punta Mita.

Alfredo has a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Director Punta Ixtapa y Punta Gorda

He has an extensive professional career in DINE tourism projects. He started in the Group more than 15 years ago as Project Manager in Punta Ixtapa and Punta Gorda. He currently serves as the Director of both projects.



New Businesses Director and Strategic Planning Director

He has a history of more than 15 years in the Group. He currently serves as Director of Strategic Planning and New Businesses and is in charge of DINE's Residential Projects. He previously held positions of Financial Planning and Management Control at DINE and Grupo DESC. Héctor is an Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Anáhuac and has a master’s degree in Senior Business Management from IPADE.
